Background on Chris & Jami Carmichael of Surfperch Communications:
Chris Carmichael is the CEO and Business Strategist of Surfperch. He builds alliances with vendors and partner organizations, and creates sales and marketing opportunities for our authors.
Chris graduated with an English Degree from Vanguard University in 1995, and soon after started his career at Intel in their in-house Publications Department. He served as an editor, ghostwriter and web designer at Intel Press for three years before starting his own website and marketing company.
Jami Carmichael earned a degree in Marketing from Santa Clara University and has 11 years’ experience in Marketing, Communications, and Operations. Jami oversees our daily operations, author marketing programs, branding, events, website and department budget. She loves traveling, reading, the beach, and spending time with all the boys in her life — her husband and three sons.
After getting married in 2003, Chris and Jami began working side-by-side on a variety of marketing, business development and social enterprise programs for both non-profits and for-profit companies. Some of their clients and projects included adidas, Oregon Food Bank, Soles4Souls and Royal Family KIDS.
Chris and Jami have placed hundreds of articles on behalf of his clients in People Magazine, Rolling Stone, Real Simple, Men’s Fitness, National Geographic and in newspapers such as Huffington Post, New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Washington Times and USA Today.
